🤎📜✨ Torn fragments coalesce into a vibrant core—beiges, grays, blues, and browns layer upon one another like a small storm of matter. Beneath them, printed words peek through, giving the impression that an ancient story is trying to rise to the surface.
In this oil-on-canvas and collage work by Fred Lafourcade, layering becomes storytelling. The accumulations are reminiscent of Robert Rauschenberg’s compositions at MoMA, while the weathered texture echoes Anselm Kiefer’s work at the Tate Modern.
